I Love Digi - '3 papers, 2 brads, 1 embellishment'
Digital Tuesday - 'Blue and white plus one'
Image: Mo's Digital Pencil, 'Pinocchio'
Papers: Cosmo Cricket, 'Lil' Man' collection; computer-generated wood grain papers (sign and branch)
Other: Brads from stash.
Tools: Nestabilities circle punch
I have been dying to find a reason to colour and use this gorgeous image. I love him - Mo has captured a child in wood! How clever is she?
I didn't know what occasion I could possibly use him for so he sat waiting in the wings for a while. Then it suddenly occurred to me - belated birthday, with the lie that I'd never forget! Yaaaay!
I chose to use the 'out of bounds' Nestabilities technique for this image - I've only recently learnt how to do it, mainly thanks to this brilliant video tutorial at Paperthreads. I wanted his nose to really pop out of the circle, so that I could hang the little sign on it - and it worked!
I have to say that I wouldn't normally choose to so loosely interpret a challenge as I have with the 'Digital Tuesday' one, but I so rarely use such a limited pallet and I have mainly stuck to shades of blue with white/cream and added brown as my other colour. Obviously, I'm a bit more on the mark with the 'I Love Digi' challenge, if you count the sign as the sentiment and the branch as the embellishment (which is what I had in mind when I made this card).
Aha! But now that I've looked at my challenge list for this week, I think this card might also be suitable for:
Daring Cardmakers - 'Diamond' (see that paper!?)
Papercraft Planet Sketch Challenge SK040310 - see below - if you rotate the card through 90 degrees to the left.
Gosh, I hadn't intended to make this one suitable for so many challenges but, once again, luck has been on my side - how marvellous!
I'm having an early night tonight - my darling mother-in-law in Oz (bless her) got her timings mixed up this morning and rang us at 5.30 a.m. Nobody likes a call at that time in the morning but, thankfully, there was no bad news, just a lot of laughing and apologising! Consequently, it wasn't worth going back to sleep, just for the alarm to wake us at 6.30 a.m., so it's ended up being a rather long day!
Just enough time to link up and then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Happy crafting.
xx
Postscript:
I've been lucky enough to be featured on Little Red Wagon again, with my Easter bunny packaging - I can't believe it! Thank you so much to the wonderful girls over there. If you haven't already had a go at a Little Red Wagon challenge, why not give this week's sketch challenge a try.
