Sylas and the Disappearing Widget

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today's card was going to be for the current Just Add Ink challenge but, unfortunately, Mr Linky appears to have expired his widget early.  Of course, it could just be me being a bit silly and not reading my world clock properly so apologies if I've got it wrong.  But I'm going to post my card anyway, so nothing lost, eh?

This week's challenge across at Just Add Ink was to create a male card using this scrumptious colour combo (one of my favourites, actually!):

So here's Sylas:

Image: Just Inklined, 'Sylas Bumblethorpe'.  You can buy Sylas (and Just Inklined's other images) here, as they're not sold directly from Just Inklined's blog.

Papers: DCWV 'Linen Closet' collection.

I love the Bumblethorpes - and you'll be seeing some more of the family in the next few weeks.  Such fun images and a realy joy to colour.  You can't help but laugh as you're colouring in someone's bald head!

The Linen Closet papers were perfect, not only for the colour challenge but for the 'feel' of this card too.  I love these papers and will soon have to replace my original 8x8 pad.

Sylas was coloured up with my Copics, of course (and I'll let you into a secret - I've bought a few more and am just awaiting delivery - how exciting!), with grounding and glow with my Prismas (hoping to get the tutorial done this weekend!)

I kept the palette simple but managed to introduce plenty of light and shade into this one.

It's great to be able to produce humorous cards now and then - particularly for men - because not everyone suits an elegant or pretty card.  That's why I love the Bumblethorpes, I think.  Wait until you meet their neighbour, Maud Doodlebuns - she was Miss Blackpool 1945 you know! (Or so she tells Flossie and Sylas!)

Enough of the madness - they'll cart me off one of these days!  Suffice it to say that I probably won't get to enter Sylas into the challenge but he was really good fun to make.  Unexpected free day tomorrow so I'm hoping to go colouring crazy for the day - if I don't end up asleep all day, that is! ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Happy crafting.
