The Last of Christmas in July

Happy August all - it seems impossible that it's here but this year is just whizzing by!  And there's just time to squeeze in a final card for the last of the Christmas in July challenges:

Mo's DP2 Challenge 'Christmas in July'
Little Red Wagon 'Christmas in July'
Cupcake Craft Challenge 'Pastel Christmas'

And the layout is from this week's Dare U 2 Digistamp sketch challenge:

My mojo is in a bit of a fix at the moment - I had hoped it would have returned from sick leave by now but apparently it is in a critical condition and needs more time off work!  Silly mojo! So I can't promise that today's card is quite the card I wanted it to be.  Oh well - I'm sure normal service will be resumed soon!

Without further ado:

Image: Mo's Digital Pencil, 'Who Me?'

Papers: Cosmo Cricket, 'Jolly By Golly'

I have to say I'm really not in the mood to make Christmas cards at the moment (can you tell!) but I didn't want to miss this week's challenges.  Thankfully, this delightful image from Mo's Digital Pencil was calling me so at least I had a good starting point.

And I must admit, having rifled through my stash for Christmas goodies, I'm quite looking forward to the new season's papers coming out - I love my 'Jolly By Golly' but I need new and inspiring papers to put me in the Christmas mood.

(Don't tell anyone that I said I was looking forward to the Christmas stock coming out - I have to maintain my Grinch-like demeanour!)

I'm hoping I shall be in a position to buy more Copics soon as I could really do to have more colours and tones now that I'm getting more used to using them.  I'm beginning to feel limited by my palette, which is not good (although, to be honest, I think it's as much as symptom of my poorly mojo as anything else!). I also want to try some Distress Inks, just to see what results I get.  Still, I think this little one looks cute in his/her (?) stripey scarf and hat.

I added a pale blue background with my Prismas then lightly glittered with some Glamour Dust, for Christmas sparkle. I used some Snow Writer for the snow around his/her feet and lightly sprinkled this with Glamour Dust too.  Some variously textured, punched and glittered papers and a few snowflakes and finished! Whew! No more Christmas cards for at least another month now - yaaaaay!

Don't forget to pop back tomorrow for my first Karen's Doodles DT card!

Happy crafting.

  3. Yeah. When my mojo goes (again) I want to be able to produce anything half way as gorgeous as your mojoless self.
Loving all the texture and colouring of course! And sshhhh, don't tell anyone but I'm kinda looking forward to new Christmas papers too. Although my credit card sure isn't!
I know how it feels to be limited in your palette. It is especially annoying to discover that you have only darks and lights in certain shades and you'll have to try blending tip to tip until everything starts bleeding and you REALLY need a drink, lol
